What you need: 10 Servings

Ingredients

1 roll Pie dough (from 1/2 package refrigerated Pie dough)
Cooking spray

* I use 10 inch cake pan with 2 inch deep. With Pie dough from "Pillsbury", it fit my cake pan until top.

2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon Salt
3 large Eggs
1 and 3/4 Buttermilk
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

How to:
  1. Pre-heat oven to 325 F.
  2. To prepare crust, place the -- pie dough -- into 9 inch deep dish pie plate coated with cooking spray. Fold edge under. Place pie plate in refrigerator until ready to use.
  3. To prepare streusel, combine -- flour + brown sugar + cinnamon -- in a small bowl. cut in -- butter -- with a pastry blender until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Place streusel in refrigerator.
  4. To prepare filling, over medium heat, heat a large nonstick skillet coated with -- cooking spray -- Add -- sliced apple + 1/4 cup sugar + cinnamon -- cook until apple is tender (about 10 minutes) stir occasionally. Spoon the apple mixture into prepared crust.
  5. Whisk together -- remaining 3/4 cup sugar + flour + salt + eggs -- until combined. Stir in -- buttermilk + vanilla -- Pour over apple mixture.
  6. Bake at 325 F for 30 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 300 F (do NOT remove pie from oven) sprinkle streusel over pie. Bake at 300 F for 40 minutes or until set.
  7. Let stand 1 hour before serving.

* The key to both a flaky pie crust and crisp streusel topping is to keep them as cold as possible before putting them into the oven.

For streusel -- flour + brown sugar + cinnamon + butter --

Keep refrigerate until ready to use.

For apple filling -- sliced apple + 1/4 c sugar + cinnamon --

Cook until tender, stir occasionally.

Spoon into prepared crust.

For liquid filling -- 3/4 c sugar + flour + salt + eggs --

Then add in -- buttermilk + vanilla -- whisk whisk!

Pour over apple mixture.

Bake at 325 F for 30 mn then reduce to 300 F,
sprinkle streusel oven pie, continue at 300 F for 40 minutes
