Healthy cookies

Healthy cookies

I just love healthy food: anything whole wheat, oat, bran, oil, nut, etc. I guess everyone did love healthy food. But it 's just not easy to eat only that. But with creative ideas from lovely people who care about health out there everywhere in every countries from around the world, we have more and more new recipes which healthy AND delicious. We do no longer need to choose to eat healthy or eat happily. We can now have both ^^ I think it's fine not to always eat healthy. Some foods are not healthy for health but make you feel so happy to eat which is good for your mind! When you feel good, your body also feel good. So, it's not that bad, right? Well, there is moderation in everthing. I try to introduce my kids healthy food since they are little. So that , later, when they grow up, they can make a good choices for what they want to eat.

Personally, I cook or bake with healthy ingredients whenever i can. If i cannot make them 100% healthy, which is hard sometime with kids, i try to add even a little. It makes me feel so good  (and not guilty) when i eat. It makes me feel so good when i make them for my family. It makes me happy when i see my kids eat them. It just so good not to say "stop", "later", "you have enough" or what so ever to my kids to make them stop when they want to eat more.

Like these cookies, the texture is like a soft cereal bar. It taste so good, really really good. Please bake this once. Give this cookies a chance. You will not regret. We love it! You too!!!

  6. How do cookies with chocolate chips contain no sugar? In all the chocolate chips I know, there is quite a lot of it. Do you use a special brand?
Also I'm slighty confused by what almond meal is (I'm no native english speaker). When I translated it, it's some sort of ingredient for cosmetics. The picture you used shows just almonds, do you mean that or some special kind of almonds? Help would be great, as I would love to make these. Thanks!

  7. This cookies have sweetness from banana and all other ingredients :) that's why we don't need sugar :)

Almond meal: is simply a ground almonds. If you cannot find already made. You can just put the whole almonds in food processor :)

I hope i answer to your question. Please do not hesitate to ask again if still confuse. Sorry if my explanation on the recipe is not very clear.

Please try to make it once and you will understand why you don't need sugar in this cookies. It is yummy and healthy :) Hope you will like it as much as i do :)

And please don't forget to come back to share your opinion after making them :) ENJOY!

  10. I made these a day or two ago, and my parents love these! My dad tells me that he hates baked goods that contain oatmeal because it hurts his teeth, but these ones, he'll eat! This is definitely a make-again recipe for me! Oh, and I substituted the almond meal for oat flour; worked like a charm for me + I made these in 2 baking batches. For the second batch, I added in a few spoonfuls of peanut butter. Also, I love how it doesn't taste like a healthy cookie; I sometimes hate eating those because I don't feel like I'm indulging!

    1. May be you could try: coconut flakes, quinoa flake, or granola instead. I never try them in the recipe through. So, please let me know if it taste ok for you with those substitutes choices :) Good luck!! :)

  14. You lost me at banana. Sorry. And the previous poster meant that chocolate chips contain sugar, so your cookies technically contain sugar, you just didn't add any additional raw sugar.

  15. Hi Amy,
Happy to hear that you and your family enjoyed them :) Hmm, my family usually finished them all in a day. To store, i would simply keep them in an air tight container at room temperature. But as summer is quite hot, why not try to keep them in the fridge. Hope this help! :)

  16. Hi! Love the recipe, but I'm a bit puzzled.. Do we use the kernels on the sunflower seeds? If so, should they be unsalted?

  20. This recipe sounds truly yummy and easy! However, I am highly allergic to tree nuts, and therefore, cannot use almond meal. Could you please suggest an alternative to this that might work in your recipe?? Even if you said to find something with the consistency of almond meal, I wouldn't know what that would be like because I've never seen almond meal before. Would flaxseed meal work, or a gluten-free flour??

    1. Hi Micki_F,

Almond meal is a ground almonds with the skin on. It has fine crumb .. look like polenta but not as dry.

I heard that sunflower seeds work well as substitute with ratio of 1:1. I never try it myself but sound make sense as substitute to me ^_^

To make the sunflower seed meal, simply grind them up into a fine powder in a blender/food processor/coffee grinder/mortar and pestle.

Hope this help and please let me know how it turn out for you. Good luck! ^_^
