We love fruit in our family. Apple is one of many fruits that always in our fridge. We like to eat it fresh and we think it stay fresh longer in the fridge than outside especially when the weather is hot. There are so many kinds of apple available in the market: Mcintosh, Empire, Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Fuji, .. We try to eat as varieties as possible but we like Gala (to eat fresh) and Granny Smith (to eat fresh and to bake). This cake look so nice, don't you think? The color is so nice. Apple pieces make this cake look so pretty. The taste? Yummy!!! Really nice, soft but firm, and tasty cake. Nutty flavor from walnut make is cake even more delicious. Oh yes, no butter in this recipe.. interesting?!?!?! ^^

Wow, what a fun Easter holiday we have. Kids have no school: Good Friday and Easter Monday. Almost everyday, the weather is like "raining" in the morning but "nice sun shine" in the afternoon. But it doesn't matter what the weather was because kids still have fun playing outside anyway. The whole day of Good Friday, kids spend all day outside playing, running, ... oh yes, and a little film "RIO" in the afternoon. They love cinema! Saturday, fun Easter egg hunt with lots of kids in the neighborhood. We baked Easter cookies to share with them. And just before bed time, we dyed eggs ^_^
P.S. On the image above, with green background, is the scene that my daughter set up and ask me to come take a picture. She said "Mommy, please come have a look at something i want you to take a picture for Easter, please please". when i arrived, i was surprise and so happy to see it. It makes me smile ^_^ not you? ^_^

I love bread. I love to eat them. I love to bake them. But working with yeast is not so simple, not so easy. I mean, it's easy but there is a chance that it might not work, mean it might not become soft and light, not double in size, nothing. Anyway, it worth doing because fresh baked bread out from your own oven is something: smell, proud, .. it might not be the best bread but on your mind it's always a delicious bread ever ^^ This Soft Yogurt Sandwich Rolls turn out really nice. Not so light (may be because of me :P) but taste so great. Serve with a knob of butter while it's still hot .. so good!

I just love baking with spiced. Not only in the kitchen but just the whole house smell so good with it. It makes me feel at home. Feel warm even when it's cold. Also, it makes me feel so hungry that i feel more "eating" than "tasting" the batter before baking them. Yes, i always taste the batter .. all kinds of batter! Sometimes i find them even taste better than baked one :D This Hermit Cookies is just so de-li-ci-ous. I also like the contrast of the color of cookies and the icing. They get along so well together. I baked this once for my lovely neighbors who decided to all come outside on one shiny afternoon to take a sun bath and chat between parents while, at the same time, look after their kids playing all together on the street. What a nice neighborhood! and and and they said they like this cookies ^^

I heard that Magnolia Cupcake is so popular in USA. That make me want to taste it, so badly. But as i live too far away and cannot travel there just for a cupcake tasting (i wish i could :P). I have to try it! I have to try it! I keep having this idea in my head for a while. Then i begin to look on the internet for a recipe and YES! I found the recipe. Immediately get everything ready and in the kitchen! This is a nice, light cupcake that taste just right, not too sweet. Why don't you give this a try ^^ For sure, you will be happy with the result! I am not usually bake or make anything with sauce, filling or frosting as my family (especially my kids) love sweets so much that we are afraid to get too fat too quickly by all sweets i bake each day. So, we (actually "I") try not to over-dose :D overwhelm all those sweets we eat by the filling, sauce or frosting. But since i baked "Overnight Banana Sticky Buns" not long ago. I can't stop looking and imagining baking new recipe with sauce, filling, frosting or whatsoever that make my sweets look gooey again .. :} Yes, this is one of them .. and i don't think it will be the last one :P Well, hope we can do more exercise as i cannot stop baking.. I-L-O-V-E-B-A-K-I-N-G!

Doughnuts ..Doughnuts, who doesn't like doughnuts? Me, I like Doughnuts ^^ especially glaze on top ... so hard to resist! But each time i eat, i feel guilty. Why? Because it's deep-fried. Each bite i take, I feel as if my tummy is growing bigger and bigger :P Not good for my waistline! neither my cholesterol level :P So, i just try "Baked" doughnut. Really, It was not bad. The texture is soft and the taste is great. That give me an excuse to enjoy more the glaze ;)
Don't waste a pieces of it. Even the Doughnut holes taste great. Kids love them as it cute and tiny ^^ fit in their tiny hand.

I love bread but somehow, i don't feel very comfortable making bread. I find to hard to work with a yeast. The word "warm" or thing like "temperature" worry me a bit. But after a few times of try-and-error, i feel more confidence and finish by loving it. The dough is so soft when touch and each times i see the dough double in size, i always feel like it's some kind of magic ^^ If you have time, please give this a try. Fresh bake come right out from your own oven, what can be better?! ^_^

What can be better than waking up in the morning by smell of hot muffins coming out from the oven? Blueberry muffin? so good!!! Especially if it made with whole wheat flour and wheat bran. You will feel in a good shape for the whole day ^^
Look, my kids even cannot wait until i finish taking a picture of these muffins. At first , I was afraid to do this recipe as it said "baby" but by looking at those healthy ingredients. I said "Let's do it". And i am so happy i did. The texture is a little bit sticky in the middle (i said "a little bit") as it mentioned that it's for "baby" i guess but the taste was delicious! I only made half of the recipe which come to 12 standard size muffins and both of my kids eat them all in one time, it took them about 5 minutes to finish. I am so happy!!!

I still have not finished all the pear in my fridge yet. Enjoy it when fresh but i bought so many that it become ripe quickly all at the same time. No panic, i have an idea. How about this Pear and Pecan Slice. It change a bit from cake ^^ Sour cream, pear and nuts make such a nice combination. It's cold outside. I need a cup of tea (and hot chocolate for my kids ^^) but what can we bake to eat with? I have lots of nice (well ripe :D) pear in my fridge so why not bake something with pear inside? ^^ This is a very nice soft and tasty cake. Smell of warm cinnamon everywhere in the house. This is my kids favorite cookies. Why? Because they can participate in all the process since making the dough, rolling, cutting into shape until put in the oven ^^ But their most favorite part is, of course, when they decorate them with icing and all sorts of sprinkle .. lick their finger, eat some, decorate some. Good moment ^^ This recipe is not too sweet and hold well the shape after baked. Love it!
